The Wellington boots and umbrellas by the entrance lobby of Gidleigh Park indicate that this is a special place where people come to walk and to enjoy being outside in the beauty of the grounds.
Gidleigh Park is situated in 107 acres of mature beech and oak forest and gardens. There are numerous paths through the ancient coppiced woodland of ash, birch, oak and beech. There are self-guided walks of the estate (maps provided) as well as guided walks by arrangement. The grounds of Gidleigh Park are a great area for dog walking, too.
For more strenuous walks, the high moorland beckons.
