In spring, when the rhododendrons and azaleas are a blaze of colour and the fresh green leaves are out in the woodlands of the estate; in summer, sitting on the terrace to look across to the gorse and heather covered slopes of Dartmoor; in autumn, when the leaves turn colour, the nights draw in and you can warm yourself in front of the fire; and in winter, when a light dusting of snow covers all in a blanket of white.
