Monday 19th - GIDLEIGH PARK Welcomes Felton Road
Wine Tasting and Luncheon
Felton Road is located in Bannockburn, Central Otago in New Zealand, the most southerly wine growing region in the world. Their vineyards are nestled in valleys with their own microclimates totally surrounded by high mountains, many of which are snow-capped all year round.
Nigel Greening is the owner of Felton Road which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. The wines have become iconic in their own right and have set the bench mark in New Zealand for top-end Pinot Noir and Riesling. The successful philosophy of the company is being centered around ‘the gentle approach’ and allowing the quality of the fruit to speak for itself. Gentle handling, as little intervention as possible, hand viticulture and the use of specific techniques during the wine making, gives the wine a helping hand to express itself, rather than being moulded into an artificially created winery style.
Gidleigh Park is very fortunate to be able to show-case some of the best examples of Felton Road’s repertoire, combining them with a wonderfully matched luncheon menu prepared by two Michelin star Executive Chef, Michael Caines MBE and his team. We also have the pleasure of welcoming Nigel Greening, the proprietor of Felton Road, who will be here to talk us through the wines he has personally chosen for the occasion.
We cordially invite you to join us for this very special occasion at Gidleigh Park on Monday 19th May at 11.30am, where you will experience some quite fantastic examples of New Zealand’s finest wines.
This unique event is £70 per person, including a two Michelin star, gourmet 3-Course luncheon with wines, followed by coffee and petit fours. Places are limited and we ask that you make your reservation by contacting Gidleigh Park on Tel: 01647 432367.
