Devon is one of the most popular of English destinations. Bordered by Cornwall to the west, Dorset and Somerset to the east, it is unique amongst English counties in having two separate coastlines.

There is much to see and do in Devon, including enjoying traditional seaside pursuits; exploring the county’s two national parks, 500km of coast and 3500km of footpaths; discovering gardens, country houses and estates, castles, fascinating villages and towns; and, not least, eating and drinking.

This is rich farming country par excellence, and Devon is the source of outstanding local and regional produce from sea and land, much of which is utilised in the kitchens of Gidleigh Park. Devon’s capital city is Exeter, a Roman city with more than 2000 years of history. The Jurassic Coast that extends from Exmouth east to Dorset is a World Heritage Site.
