There are many things to see, do and visit in the vicinity of Gidleigh Park.

Activities include archery, horse riding, 4 x 4 on the moors, fly-fishing (tuition available), golf, canoeing, rock climbing, mountain biking and road cycling, shooting, falconry, guided heritage walks and more. Those who are fascinated by archaeology can explore and discover Bronze Age settlements and stone circles such as the Drizzlecombe complex.

English Heritage and the National Trust have many properties throughout the area, notably nearby Castle Drogo, the last castle to be built in Britain. There are more than 40 areas of designated Special Scientific Interest (SSI) within the Dartmoor National Park.
