Hotel Grounds
Gidleigh Park enjoys an exceptional position, located in 107 acres of secluded gardens and woodland on the North Teign River, within Dartmoor National Park. Its isolated position is simply majestic and beautiful at all times of the year.
There are self-guided and guided walks through the grounds and woodlands so you can enjoy the bluebells in spring, the sound of water cascading over rocks in the water garden, and azaleas, acers, giant gunneras, camellias, rhododendrons and other colourful flowers and plants, as well as the more subtle hues of moss, ferns and heather on the moor. Wildlife such as deer, rabbits, moles and buzzards share the habitat, while the Teign has stocks of brown trout and salmon.
Within the grounds of Gidleigh Park, there is a tennis court, croquet lawn, bowling green, 18-hole putting course designed by Peter Alliss, and heated and lit dog kennels for canine guests.
The 18-hole putting course will close each winter and will re-open again on Good Friday . The putting course is now closed for the winter.
