Gidleigh Park is a very special destination for families, where you can enjoy the beautiful grounds, the countryside of the Dartmoor National Park, and a range of outdoor activities.

Things to Do
There is plenty in and around the area for children to enjoy, especially within the grounds of the hotel which provides a great retreat for little explorers! Should you be joining us over the Easter weekend then the children are treated to an Easter egg hunt, with prizes strategically placed in the grounds buy the Easter Bunny! Alternatively, why not spend Christmas with us, where the house is sumptuously decorated, and presents elegantly wrapped? A magical time can be had at Gidleigh Park.

And if you were looking for a day spent outside, there are numerous activities, walks and leisure facilities ideal to keep your little ones interested and occupied. As well as discovering all that the Dartmoor National Park has to offer, why not venture further afield to Devon’s numerous attractions including wildlife centres, National Trust properties, Plymouth aquarium and the Eden Project. And if a day at the beach seems to beckon then Devon’s award winning coastlines are within an hours drive.

Our Rooms
We have two rooms the Loft Suite and the Pavilion, which offer ideal accommodation for families, having separate bedrooms for the children. A number of our other rooms have the choice of a sofa bed or extra bed and room for a cot if required. Along with DVD players and two well-stocked toy baskets that can be delivered to any room on request giving families a range of options when staying with us.

The Restaurant
Lunch and dinner in the restaurant at Gidleigh Park is a more adult affair and we ask that children are aged eight years and over.  For younger guests staying with us, we are happy to offer a high tea between 5.00pm and 6.30pm in the public rooms, your room, or on the terrace in summer.  Younger guests can select from the restaurant menus, or else enjoy the children’s menu of the day.

Time for you...
Younger guests are always welcome here with cots and highchairs provided. Should it be required we can arrange for a baby monitor to be placed your room, or when parents need a little time for themselves, with advance notice, Ofsted-approved babysitters can be booked.
